Ascend steadily out of the rainforest into rolling moorlands and giant heather. Enjoy your first sweeping views of the Shira Plateau and Kibo Peak as you arrive at Shira 1 Camp.
Rest and acclimatize with a guided hike across the vast Shira Plateau to Shira 2 or Cathedral Peak. This extra high-altitude day is one of the keys to Lemosho’s exceptional summit success rate — soak in the dramatic volcanic landscape and prepare your body for the climb ahead.
Trek across the Shira Plateau to Lava Tower (4,630m) for powerful acclimatization, then descend into the beautiful Barranco Valley. Pass dramatic senecios and lobelias before arriving beneath the famous Barranco Wall.
Climb the exhilarating Barranco Wall, then traverse the ridge to Karanga Valley for lunch. Continue through the alpine desert to Barafu Camp for an early dinner and full rest before your midnight summit attempt.
Midnight climb from Barafu to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) for a magical sunrise on the Roof of Africa! Celebrate your achievement with summit photos, then descend through the alpine desert to Barafu for a short rest, continue down through the rainforest to Mweka Gate.
